Simple Buttermilk Biscuits Homemade for Mother’s Day
Buttermilk Biscuits homemade for Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day is almost here, while some of us usually ask for fancy gifts, celebration brunches and gatherings, some of us are just wishing for normalcy. Many of us are still keeping things simple, and that’s okay, as long as those simple things make Mother’s Day ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!
There’s nothing more simple or delicious than a freshly baked buttermilk biscuit, using the DoughEZ rolling system! Using only a few ingredients, and rolling out perfectly with the DoughEZ rolling pin, our buttermilk biscuit recipe is easy and versatile. They can be dressed up with fruit and cream, slathered in sausage gravy or eaten right out of the basket with nothing but a pat of butter. Now that’s enough to make ANY mother happy!
Today, Dough EZ’s buttermilk biscuit recipe takes just a bit of a different turn. We substituted half of the normally used all-purpose flour for cake flour, which lightens up the texture just a bit. We also traded half of the salt for some sugar, so it has the perfect flavor balance, no matter how you’re going to serve these baked little beauties. We’re also using SUPER COLD butter, so our biscuits have some tiny little bursts of steam and butter inside!
Once the dough comes together, The DoughEZ Rolling Pin and DoughEZ Rolling System make everything a breeze! No more worries about over worked dough. Simply turned dough out onto right side of the lightly floured DoughEZ silicone mat. The versital guide stick can be stacked to achieve varied thickness of 1/2″or 5/8″. For 1″ thick biscuits, we used the guides sticks differently. Create a 9″X13″X1″ pastry frame by turning sticks onto their tall sides and snap them together. Cover the dough and sticks with left side of DoughEZ mat. Use DoughEZ rolling pin on top of mat and guides. This gave us a perfectly even 1” high dough, which will make for perfectly-sized, 2” tall biscuit cut-outs!
Easily transfer biscuits from the Non-Stick mat to a baking sheet lined with the parchment or Silicone DoughEZ baking mat liner. Place in oven. Bake in about 13 minutes. Ready to enjoy with just about anything! The texture is light and fluffy. Results in just the right amount of flake and crumble. They’re sweet, they’re savory, they’re warm and velvety. No matter how you dress these up, they’re sure to please even the pickiest of mommies!
